LOTUS: new papers and elements

Hello there!  I still have to process and sort through all of our camping photos so it'll be a couple days before I have them for you.  Camping was much more enjoyable then I thought it would be.  The weather was perfect, the bugs were at a minimum, and Ethan had a blast playing with the 5 other boys around his age.  Yes, five. other. boys.  So as you'd expect it was a very exhausting trip ♥.

Anyways, I have a new kit for you in the store and it's all about relaxation and finding the calm in life, even in the middle of the woods with no modern conveniences and a bunch of kids under the age of six.  Here's Lotus.

ORGANIC: new kit from three paper peonies

I'm so excited to bring you this new kit today. I feel like I'm finally starting to define my own style as a designer.  I still have a lot of refining to do, but at least I'm starting to hone in on what is really me.  So I bring you "Organic".  It was inspired by my desire to start leading a more natural life, eating more natural foods, and doing things the "old way".  (I have to smile as I type this in front of my huge monitor with cell phone at side.)

I recently had dim sum with my 82 year-old grandmother and several other relatives all over the age of 75.  They all are still extremely mobile and healthy and no one would guess that anyone there was above 70.  I attribute their health to their good living habits- they love to exercise, follow a diet high in vegetables and low in processed foods, and don't use a lot of the modern conveniences that, while helpful, probably aren't the best for us.

I, on the other hand, am turning 34 this year and already know of several people around my age who have had major illnesses including cancer and stroke.  Scary, but the reality.  And when we were younger a lot of things were still "natural".  The cafeteria staff at my elementary school actually prepared and made hot meals.  At the school that I work at, everything (even fruit) comes pre-packaged in plastic.  And all hot meals, including pizza, are heated in plastic bags.  So I wonder what our children will be like in their 30's when things are already so "unnatural" for them. 

Ok.  I'll stop talking now and get off my box. lol.  I just wanted to share some of the thoughts I've been having especially after spending time with such healthy older family members.  Don't think that I lead this entirely organic life or anything- free of all chemicals, soaps, and plastics.  I'm just trying to get my family back to a more natural and healthy place.  And with that, I bring you "Organic".
